What is Media sciences? Scope in Pakistan

Before jumping right into the media sciences , we must know what is media ? . Living in this modern age we are very well aware about media . Media is something that keeps us aware about the things going around us or perhaps around the world . Some folks say that media is something that provides us entertainment , gossips , and all sorts of affairs whether on social , cultural or political level . Lets discuss it more deeply and clearly . In a country like Pakistan , the importance of media can't be denied in any case . For several decades , media has been playing an important part in promoting and developing our culture and other values . In a nutshell , media is an important part of any society and is ultimate source of information and ideas . It can be concluded that without media the society may become dull and inactive .

Just right after the advent of 21st century , the arrival of Digital media has expelled the use of  newspaper and radio partially . Before the arrival of television and other advanced stuff , the use of radio and newspaper was at its peak . Basically , in the beginning of 20th century  radio and newspaper struggled to become a better advertising source . But as the time has passed , the advent of digital media has changed everything and has also revolutionized the media industry from various aspects .

In simple words , media sciences is a field which covers all aspects of media such as mass communication , journalism , writing and publishing ( in newspaper ) ,public relations , direction and production , specialization in TV and Films , animation , advertising and much more . It is the most highly influential field in the Asian countries and in the West too . Working in media can be full of pleasure , exciting and challenging as well . Confidence is something very important to become a media personality without confidence there are zero chances of occupying a better and unique position in media industry . Apart from that , if we look closely on media studies taught in universities , different projects given to students simply judges their confidence level indirectly . It has been observed that mostly creative people explore the vast fields of media .

In Pakistan ,  various universities especially in Karachi have three sub categories in media sciences / study which are  Tv and film , Animation and Advertising . It depends upon you in which field you are interested at . Here we are gonna discuss three main sub categories in media sciences which are  Tv and Film , Advertising and Animation.

Animation :-

Long ago in Pakistan there was immediate requirement of animators and graphic designers but as the time has passed , after the huge struggle this field was introduced as a sub category in media sciences .Basically animation has a great importance in the initial years of learning especially in the kindergarten . In Pakistan , advanced schooling systems consider animation as an important component of learning . Animation refers to the pictures manipulated to be appearing as moving images . Now a days , most of the animations are made with computer generated imagery . Apart from that , animation makes the things easier to understand and learn . It may be the representation of emotions , thoughts by using moving images . Animations have been used in advertisement and this can't be denied that without animation advertising can be extremely boring and useless . Therefore , animation has very much importance . After getting a bachelor's degree , you will be obviously animator and graphic designer which opens lots of opportunities for you . Jobs which are best suited for animator are Concept creator , Graphic designer , Games developer , VFX artist , webs designer and much more . 

TV & Film :-

TV and Film basically has vast scope . Now a days we continuously see lots of new faces in every sphere of media perhaps on television. If you specializes in this field then the doors of opportunities in media world are open for you . In these 4 years you will be seeing series of technical courses . You will be learning camera and  lighting techniques, cinematography , script writing , Animations and Sound production etc . overall it's a good subcategory of media studies and has more scope.

Advertising:-

Bachelors of media sciences in advertisement is a 4 years program offered by various universities .
It also opens lots of opportunities for you just like TV and Film production . Advertisement helps the customers to know the existence of different products and prices in the market .  Many business feel the need to advertise their product to target audiences and customers to reach their desired target . By doing bachelor in this particular field you can get a job as marketing manager , marketing research analyst , graphic designer , media director , advertising sales representatives .
